Ravi Bamunusinghe (Ph.D): A SME Business Adviser/Coach and visiting faculty member of the Postgraduate Institute of   Management and University of Sri Jayewardenepura, who   has commenced lecturing after three decades of industry exposure in business research   and consultancy. He is responsible for having initiatied two business research agencies that cater to local, international, and multinational companies focused on providing strategic direction and brand positioning. He is a founder member of Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) Sri Lanka branch. He was a Past President of the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (Social Science), Secretary of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing and the Founder President of Market Research Society of Sri Lanka. His doctorate from Malaysia University of Science and Technology is dedicated on enabling growth of SMEs, business modeling and entrepreneurship. He holds Master’s degrees from University of Surrey, UK and University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. He was a regular member of the panel of judges for Brand Excellence Awards conducted by Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). Currently he is engaged in development of SMEs in Sri Lanka as well as in the blueprint committee and the jury of SME Development Awards 2021.

Dr Bamunusinghe greatly values the influence of Professor Lester Charles Massingham and Professor Harwindar Singh in shaping these ideologies.

Dr Lester C Massingham ‘Dr Lester” is an International Management Consultant, Trainer and Speaker who has worked extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East for over 30 years. His expertise is in the design, development and collaborative delivery of unique Strategic Management Programs embedded with Transformation Methodologies for organizational performance continuity and acceleration. Dr Lester has worked successfully with SMEs to inspire leadership mindsets and influence management action for value creation, value delivery as well as financial value capture so that the business owners and other stakeholders can realize the value attained. Dr Lester’s research and unique approach to Business Modelling continues to be shared Internationally. Working with Dr Ravi Bamunusinghe, during the doctoral research journey with SMEs, has opened up even more insights for practical application. SME business modelling innovation, inspired by Dr Lester’s consulting experience and academic research, will now provide SME decision makers with enhanced knowledge, skills and know how for accelerated enterprise leadership development. In turn, business model canvas will enable managerial competency improvements to drive sustainable economic growth for all Small to Medium enterprises. Dr Lester’s Higher Education was attained at top tier UK Universities. Dr Lester’s international consulting career has also been augmented by academic leadership for MBA and DBA program within excess of 10,000 graduates worldwide. Dr Lester has received adjunct professorships in European and Asia Universities, held examinerships for leading professional bodies, and co-authored best selling management textbooks.

Dr. Samantha Rathnayake

Dr. Samantha Rathnayake is a faculty Member/Senior Management Consultant at the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Having gained enriching experience at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, ICICI Bank India, Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing and the Sri Lanka Foundation, he served as the Chairman/Member on the panel of judges to evaluate the annual Entrepreneur of the Year Competition organized by the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) since 2016; headed the Technical Committee of the Regional Management Conference organized by the Chartered Professional Managers (CPM), Sri Lanka since 2016. For two years he functioned as the Co-Chairman of Great Human Resource Practices, and as the Chairman of Great HR Practices, at the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Sri Lanka in 2017 and 2018. His interests are working with individuals and organizations for capacity building, management development and transformational activities.
